A study with 46 men found that drinking 8 ounces of pomegranate juice showed delay in rise of prostate-specific antigen levels and increased "doubling time" from 15 months to 54 months. Longer doubling time indicates slow tumor growth and cancer progression. Antioxidant, ellagitannins, which is also found in pomegranate, works by targeting the prostate cancer cells and destroying them.
